Course overview

Nova-T6 is the SIMS curriculum planning and timetabling software for secondary schools.

 

This 4 day course covers all aspects of using the Nova-T6 software in order to plan the curriculum model, allocate resources to classes and construct & schedule the timetable

Learning outcomes

  • To be able to fully use the Nova-T6 software to design a successful timetable

  • To practice creating a timetable from scratch including designing the model, creating classes, scheduling, allocating rooms and the transfer to SIMS

This course introduces you to the report designing process within SIMS.
It allows interrogation of the SIMS database to extract data and produce appropriate reports to allow informed decision making and aid school
improvement.

Please note that the sessions offered will be virtual via Microsoft Teams and they will be for all school phases.

 

Full process documentation will be available via the MIDAS Pages or the Schools Download site.

 

One Workshop session includes a short Key Stage discussion followed by an End of Year demonstration.

 

Due to current circumstances Key Stage is not statutory for 2021, and therefore an LA return is not expected.

 

Discussions will be with regard to the options available to schools concerning the recording of internal Teacher Assessments should they be required. These options will be for internal use only as will any documentation provided.

There are no changes to the End of Year process this year and the documentation will be released nearer the time of the Workshops.

A largely theory based course to help staff understand the basic principles which are fundamental to school timetabling.

 

This course will look at the timetabler's year, the timetable cycle and major timetable decisions.  It will focus on implications for staffing, curriculum planning, the options process, scheduling and finance.  Also included will be a focus on analysing.

Course overview

Schools and academies are required to clearly evidence the impact of their safeguarding and welfare responses for individual pupils and at risk groups.  SIMS can provide the tools to help quickly identify patterns or changes in pupils' attendance, achievement or behaviour that could indicate that a problem needs addressing.  By being able to clearly evidence and assess the impact of your intervention strategy, schools can help keep pupils safe and provide a positive learning environment.  A free half -day presentation, this course provides SLT with an overview of SIMS, what it is used for, and how you can use the available data.
