The workshop will be presented online, via Microsoft Teams and will run for about 2 to 2 and a half hours long. 10 - 12.30pm

 

The format will include a presentation detailing all statutory data requirements for a school census and will include a demonstration of how to create and manage a return in SIMS.

Post 16 Learning Aims will not be covered.

It allows interrogation of the SIMS database to extract data and produce appropriate reports to allow informed decision making and aid school
improvement.

Course overview

Intended to help school staff create an Options Plan, offer course selections to students online and create an Options solution to meet the student's subject choices.

 

What you will learn

· How to define a new Options Plan

· How to design Course Offer Lists for student choices

· How to manage access to the Options Plan by students/parents to collect student choices

· How to analyse and amend student choices

· How to create classes and place them into a blocking structure

Course overview

Nova-T is the SIMS curriculum planning and timetabling software for secondary schools. This 4 day course covers all aspects of using the Nova-T software in order to plan the curriculum model, allocate resources to classes and construct and schedule the timetable.

 

Learning outcomes

  • To be able to fully use the Nova T6 software to design a successful timetable

  • To practice creating a timetable from scratch including designing the model, creating classes, scheduling, allocating rooms and the transfer to SIMS
